Sorry you're leaving...

My mum recently asked me to design a card for a friend that was leaving work. After days of no ideas i came up with this -inspired obviously by the talented Mr Rob Ryan. I love his designs so desided to try it for myself. I was very happy with the outcome (and so was my mum which is a bonus! )

Tigerprint Baby Card

I recently entered the Tigerprint competition for 'New Baby' These are a couple of my entries - not winners this time though :-( Onward and upward.......right, now what's this months competition?!

Mark and Jo's Wedding

It was my cousin's wedding last month so my sister, my hubby and myself all piled into the car for a road trip up't north. We had a great few days filled with plenty of laughs, plenty of fun and more than plenty booze! Congratulations to the happy couple xx

Woof Love...

Oh. It's been a while since i last posted an item...again! This time with good reason as i've been busy settling into a new job (in the design industry) ''Yay''!!! Really enjoying things there but obviously missing my old work colleages enormously.
This card is for one of their birthdays. She bought a puppy at the same time as we bought ours so it's been a bit of a common link between us (hence the doggie on the card). Hope you have a great day hun -Happy Birthday!!

Kitten Birthday Card

Here's a card i designed recently for a friends birthday. She's desperate for a little kitten, so not being able to get a real one, i decided drawing one was the next best thing... (Ok, so it's not the 'best' next thing to a real life fluffy kitten but it's something sweet to look at whilst her hubby goes and buys a live one!!)

Button Necklace

Here's some pics of a necklace i made the other evening. Still buzzing from work, i decided to 'wind down' with a glass of wine and my design bug nagging in my ear...and this is what i came up with -a vintage button necklace! I'm really pleased with the outcome and even more pleased that those buttons that i had laying around came in usefull! (The images are pretty naff so i'll put new ones on when i get round to taking new photos)

Happy Birthday Dad!

One of the hardest things i find to design are cards for men. It's my dad's birthday this Wednesday and to be honest i've left it so late 'cause i just find it so bloomin' hard to think of anything 'manly'!
I went down several thought processes before thinking of the image from the 'memphis belle'. My dad's a huge fan of flying so i hope it's down his street (or 'flight path' so to speak). One of the easiest cards i'll probably ever put together, but effective i think... and sorta 'manly'(?)
We've got him tickets to go to the Goodwood Revival in September, that should bring a smile to his 53 year old birthday face...Happy Birthday dad!

Here are some more ideas for mothers day cards. My fav is the simple one at the top with the heart creating the 'u' for mum, so, it's the one i'm going with! To be honest, i'm getting a little freaked out by all the mice i've been using lately...i won't be using them again!

Sunday, 22 February 2009

So today, amongst other 'home-owner' chores, i decided to crack on with designing some mothers day cards. This is number one, hopefully i have some more creative juices to produce some more, but not tonight...time to hit the sack -afterall, it is a school night

Freckleface

Today, i'd like to share a lovely company i've found. Freckleface have beautiful designs made using fabric to create wonderful, original images. Their products include greeting cards, mugs, badges and fabric pictures. I think their designs are great, and good at inspiring aspiring designers like me! You can find them at www.frecklefacedesign.co.uk

I was asked by a friend at work to design some cards for a baby boy & girl that two of her family members had recently had. Both cards were in a similar style and really cute when printed!

Valentines Cards

The above are some designs i did for Valentines day. The Owl was my fav and so i ended up giving it to my hubby! I added flock (officially my favourite new tool) to his eyes and beak.
